Friday 29th of August 2008
New technology for use with Apple's range of iPods has been launched by Gear4, according to reports.Pocket Lint states that the manufacturer has unveiled its latest series of peripherals at this year's annual IFA event, a conference which brings together experts and companies from the consumer electronics sector.
The Gear4 AirZone FM Folllow Me and CarDock FM Follow Me transmitters send music from the user's iPod to any nearby radio that is tuned to the correct frequency.
It is noted that the AirZone FM Folllow Me is a dongle which plugs "discreetly" into the iPod and the CarDock FM Follow Me is a similar device for use with cigarette lighters.
The site adds that this allows energy to be taken from the car "therefore charging up the iPod while it is docked into the iPod holder".
IFA's "consumer electronics unlimited" event is taking place in Berlin from August 29th until September 3rd.
