More consumers planning Apple computer purchase

A new survey has found that more consumers are planning to buy Apple computer products than any other brand.

The study, put together by ChangeWave Research, showed there were more people intending to purchase an iMac, MacBook or other such merchandise in the next 90 days than were shopping for rival products.

Macworld reports that the survey asked 4,000 US consumers that had expressed an interest in a new computer and found that within the next three months, 32 per cent planned to buy a Mac, in comparison to 28 per cent considering Dell.

However, the site adds that "Apple was also the only vendor whose plan-to-buy share increased from July in both desktops and laptops".

It reported that Apple had gained three percentage points on planned desktop purchases and two points on potential MacBooks sales.

Paul Carton, ChangeWave's research director, said that Apple was doing well despite economic fears stating that the company could "significantly outperform expectations going forward".
