City Inn Manchester
The City Inn Group has set a new industry benchmark in guest expectation with the introduction of a groundbreaking multimedia Apple Mac solution in every bedroom of its new property in Manchester.
A world first in in-room technology; each of the 285 City Inn Manchester guest bedrooms is equipped with an iMac computer that also functions as a television, radio and DVD player, providing the guest with a one-stop shop multimedia solution combining all the IT, audio and visual equipment that they may utilise in their home or office.
City Inn, in partnership with software solutions provider DirectStreams, has developed a bespoke product that takes the high quality functionality of the iMac and tailors it for use in the hotel environment. Customers will be able to load files via a USB port and save them to a memory stick, safe in the knowledge that every time the iMac is closed down, Deep Freeze software will clean any new data off the computer and restore it to its original state. In addition the system offers 38 television channels, 23 radio stations and a DVD player on which guests can play any of the 500-strong DVD library available from the concierge desk, as well as Skype, iTunes, iChat, iPhoto and iMovie and of course complimentary WiFi, providing the most comprehensive in-room entertainment system currently existing in the market place.
Consistent to City Inn's ethos of providing a transparent offering that is unrivalled in the hospitality industry, no charge is made for the use of the Apple Macs.

Following its debut at City Inn Manchester, the Apple Mac multimedia solution will be rolled out across the rest of the group in City inn's properties in London, Bristol, Birmingham and Glasgow.
